Trip to the Wachau

The social programme comprises a trip to the Wachau valley, one of the premier touristic sites in lower Austria. This beautiful danube valley is one of the UNESCO world cultural heritages sites, and also one of Austria's best white wine areas.

One end of the valley is dominated by the Melk Abbey, one of Europe's most impressive baroque ensembles. Our programme includes a guided tour through the abbey.

After this sight, the bus will lead us right through the valley, near to the city of Krems. The trip ends at a traditional `Heuriger' restaurant where the conference dinner will take place.

The Bus brings us back to Vienna before midnight, where the `night owls' may head for the Viennese bars and pubs...
