On Monday, June 27, a special session on R initiatives sponsored by the R consortium will discuss initiatives undertaken by the R consortium, Women in R and R-Ladies. Beverages and light refreshments will be provided after the session at McCaw Hall. Note that although the session is open to all, the catering is based on an estimated count of 400.
The welcome reception, sponsored by RStudio will take place in the atrium of the beautiful Bing Concert Hall, a 5-minute walk from the conference venue. The atrium and its open surroundings will provide a great opportunity to mingle with speakers, sponsors and useRs from all parts of the world as well as the organizers. This is free to all attendees.
Attendees will be entitled to a maximum of two drinks per ticket free of charge. Hors d'oeuvres, snacks and desserts will also be provided.
The poster sessions will be held in two batches in the sponsor pavilion, adjacent to McCaw Hall, the main conference venue. Light refereshments, drinks and coffee will be provided as you view the poster session.
The conference dinner cruise, sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, will take place on Hornblower Yachts in San Francisco. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the cruise will sail past famed landmarks as the sun sets and the city lights come up. The banquet ticket includes a full buffet dinner, boarding glass of champagne or house wine (cash bar is available onboard for any other drink purchases) and live DJ/music on board. Round trip transportation to/from the conference venue will be provided.
We remind you once again to bring a jacket, as the SF Bay can turn cold and windy.
